Abstract

Social Emotional Learning (SEL) is an educational framework that focuses on the development of essential emotional and social skills that enable students to manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. The classroom environment, where children spend a significant portion of their day, is a critical setting for implementing SEL programs. This article explores the importance of integrating SEL into classroom practices and examines the implications for teacher training in Pakistan. With the growing recognition of SEL's role in promoting mental health, academic success, and overall well-being, this paper provides insights into how teachers can be equipped with the necessary tools to foster SEL in diverse educational contexts. The article also highlights current challenges and strategies for effective teacher development in the context of Pakistani education.
